  • KIDS YOGA with ARIANNE: 9am, on the Field

    Join us for an exciting Children's Yoga Workshop designed to introduce young minds to the wonders of yoga through playful movement and mindfulness! This session offers a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore their creativity, enhance their physical abilities, and develop a sense of inner calm. We'll explore mindfulness practices, interactive games, partner poses and simple breathing exercises. This workshop will be led by Arianne, a children's yoga instructor with over 12 years of experience in teaching yoga and fitness. Inspired by her own children, Arianne creates a whimsical and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and excited to learn.

    YOGA FREEFLOW with NINA: 10am, on the Wharf

    Join Nina on the Wharf for freeflow yoga! With a focus on longevity and nature-based practice, Nina brings years of study and teaching to guide her students to pay attention to what is within them, to deeply connect with breath, to know what feels good, and to find stability in the present moment. The practice of yoga reminds us that we are all aliv​e and Nina is overjoyed to share this sense with her students.

    BOPS FOR TOTS with DUSTY HALOS, 10:30am and 2:30pm, in the Kids Zone

    Join folk duo the Dusty Halos for a mini-folk fest for babies and kiddos! This interactive drop-in group, led by certified music therapist Rebecca Fairless, will feature silly songs, adorable dances, and intriguing instruments. PLEASE NOTE: A caregiver is required to accompany little folks under 5.

    ALL AGES MI’KMAQ HONOUR SONG AND ROUND DANCE: 11am, on the Field.

    Join Mi'kmaw youth Lily-Beth, Morgan, and Emmett Fisher from Glooscap First Nation as we take part in learning the Mi’kmaq Honour Song in singalong style. After the Honour Song, join in learning a round dance.

    DRUMMING with DJUGDJUG ENSEMBLE: 12 pm, on the Field

    Join Djugdjug Ensemble for a hands-on West-African drumming workshop. You will learn a few djembe rhythms and play along to a traditional song. Drums are provided, but feel free to bring your own. The workshop is intended for beginners, but all levels are welcome! Propelled by the power of purple, Djugdjug Ensemble does drumming and dance workshops, performs songs, leads parades, and collaborates with other musicians and artists to create experiences with a strong rhythmic foundation. The group is led by Bruno Allard, who has been learning, playing and sharing his passion for West African percussion for around 20 years. They are based in and around Wolfville.

    OPEN STUDIO JAM: 1pm, Artists Landing Art Gallery (Upstairs in the Museum)

    Join members of the Avon River Arts Society for an all-acoustic jam! All ages and abilities are encouraged to join. Listeners welcome!

    SUNSHINE VINYASA with LESLEY: 2pm, on the Wharf

    Join Lesley for a mid-day gentle vinyasa! A native Halifax, Lesley left the big city for the small town vibe of Windsor/West Hants over a decade ago and never looked back. She is a Yoga, a massage therapist, an avid year-round vegetable gardener, and owner of Backyard Wellness in Windsor, NS. Lesley teaches and practices alignment-centered Yoga. She has learned that movement truly is medicine, and conscious, aligned movement is medicine unmatched.

    GUIDED TRAIL HIKE: 9:30am, Trailhead at Avondale Hall Parking Lot

    Join local trail steward Devan Archibald for a guided hike (~3.0 km/1.5 hours) on portions of the Avondale trail system, including a local off-trail scenic vista of the Avon river valley. We'll share knowledge of the local ecology, history, and sustainability initiatives as we enjoy the outdoors. Please bring water and wear appropriate footwear for a backwoods trail - uneven and hilly terrain.

    RISE AND SHINE YOGA with NIC: 10 am, on the Wharf

    Start your day with all levels vinyasa style Yoga to brighten your morning. All levels and abilities welcome. Bring your mat, or feel free to practice on the wharf.

    ALL-AGES FAMILY MOVEMENT JAM with SARA: 10:30am, on the Field

    Wake up your morning groove, stretch & release, and shake your sillies out. A combination of creative dance, animal play, and contra dance activities will be shared. Suitable for all ages and designed for inclusivity, our morning dance jam will be designed for who shows up. Sara Coffin, an experienced dance instructor, is a mover and shaker in the local and national dance field and Co-Artistic Director of Mocean Dance.

    SOUND JOURNEY with BACKYARD WELLNESS: 11am, on the Wharf

    Come tune in and let go with a 40 minute sound journey. Allow the power of sound to transport you and wash you clean. Bring your Self, a blanket to lay on, and an open mind and body. Suitable for everyone.
